ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR – Arts Club Theatre Company, Vancouver

Stephen is a director, dramaturge, and teacher. Originally from Newfoundland, he has been the Associate Director at Theatre Newfoundland Labrador, the Artistic Director of Rumble Theatre, Vancouver.

Favourite directing projects have included Penelope, Indian Arm, Cock, The Society for the Destitute Presents Titus Bouffonius, Hand to God, Mustard, Skydive, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, The Bond, Hamlet, Richard III, “Art”, The Pillowman, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, and Mary’s Wedding.
Notable dramaturgy has included Indian Arm (Hiro Kanagawa; Governor General’s Literary Award), The Society for the Destitute presents Titus Bouffonius (Colleen Murphy), It’s a Wonderful Christmas-ish Holiday Miracle (Marcus Youssef), and Romeo & Juliet (production dramaturge, Ballet BC).

He has taught and directed at Memorial University, Douglas College, Neptune Theatre School, and UBC where, as an adjunct professor, he teaches Shakespeare Text Analysis and Performance.
