It is April 1941, and bombs fall nightly during London’s Blitz. Families, friends and strangers seeking safety spend their nights in the Underground train stations.
Amid the packed platforms Doreen and Brenda, two friends, meet and share the everyday heroics of women in wartime. Their husbands posted overseas, children evacuated to the country, the two comfort each other during one of the worst night bombings of World War II.
Expect Exceptional Theatre presents Down the Tube, a play inspired by the childhood memories of local playwright Frank Watts.
